Does your day ever start off on the wrong foot, and before you know it it's spinning out of control for the rest of the day?
I'm here to tell you that one thing we DO have control over is deciding whether today is going to be a good day, or a "bad" one...
Some of us wake up, and the first thing we do is reach for our cell phones to see what's going on with our friends on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.
Or we turn on the TV and tune into the news, only to learn about some tragic event that happened half-way around the world that we don't have any control over. The simplest things can put us in a negative from of mind or put us in a state of fear to where we think something bad is going to happen to us that day.
To avoid this from happening, I recommend instead of jumping right on your favorite social media sire or turning on the TV, take at least a half an hour for yourself when you first wake up to just focus on YOU and prepare your mind for the amazing day you're about to have.
Here's a few things you can do to set yourself up to have a good day, EVERYday:
1) Read an inspiring book. I usually read for 15-20 minutes every single morning from a book that will inspire me, motivate me or teach me how to be more successful in life. Some of you are thinking, "what good does only reading 15 pages of a do for me?" Doing this one thing everyday consistently is the #1 reason why I've been able to stay positive and to continue to believe in myself no matter what is going on in my life.
A few suggestions are: The Compound Effect, First Steps To Wealth, & Purpose Awakening.
2) Listen to an audio. I recommend one that will teach you a new skill or something up-lifting to put you in a good mood before any fearful thoughts have a chance to creep in and ruin your day before it even gets started.
3) Meditate. I know to some of you this might sound a little crazy. Keep an open mind here... I used to think meditating was just for monks or hippies. Just take 10-20 minutes to sit in silence, take slow breathes in & out, and repeat a positive affirmation in your mind like - "today is a beautiful day" or even "I love my life". It can be anything positive that will put you in a positive frame of mind.
