My P90X Review

What is P90X? P90X is an extreme 90 day home fitness program created by the World-famous Tony Horton.


I was one of those guys who was stubborn and believed that I could only get results by lifting heavy weights in the gym. After years and years off and on at the gym I never quite got the body I wanted. As time went on it became harder and harder to drag myself to the gym on a consistent basis. I know some of you can probably relate. After gaining 40 lbs in the summer of 2010 I decided to commit to P90X for 90 days.


When you receive the program, you will get a set of 12 Workout DVD's & 1 Explanatory disk, along with a nutrition and fitness guide. The fitness guide (100 pages) shows you when to use each DVD and goes into great detail about each and every exercise, showing you proper form in both pictures & words. This guide will help you tremendously if you want to go to the gym and do the workouts there (just in case working out at home isn't your thing).  The Nutrition Guide explains thoroughly how, what, and when you are supposed to eat. It's setup in 3 Phases, starting off with the Fat Shredder Phase, then increasing the carbs for the next two phases to help you build some muscle.

Another alternative, which is what I used during my journey through P90X is Shakeology. If you're like me and you have a busy schedule that makes it hard to take time out to cook, this is a great alternative which gives you a days worth of nutrition all in one shake. As long as you're eating clean along with drinking Shakeology each day you will see results quickly! I actually lost 45 lbs in 90 days, going from 225 down to 180. You will quickly discover that the first few weeks are brutal! The workouts are super intense, especially Chest & Back, Plyometrics, and Legs & Back. Even though you will be sore, it's important that you don't give up and keep pushing yourself to complete each workout 1 day at a time until day 90.
